INFORMATION FOR INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITORS

In order to show your dog at Crufts your dog must have a Royal Kennel Club Registration Number or an Authority To Compete Number
care a treat (ATC).
If your dog does not have an ATC number it cannot be entered for Crufts. ATC applications for Crufts entries must be received at the
Royal Kennel Club by 23 December 2025. We are unable to guarantee issuing an ATC number for any application received after this
date. To apply please complete the Form 14 – Application for an Authority To Compete (ATC) number via crufts.org.uk/ATC
TRAVELLING WITH YOUR DOG
Crufts exhibitors must ensure that their dogs fully comply with the entry rules for bringing dogs into the UK. In the case of dogs being
brought from some countries, this will involve a process which can take a number of months to complete prior to travel to the UK and
Crufts. For further details please see www.gov.uk/take-pet-abroad.
Please Note: Birmingham Airport is not a legal point of entry into the UK for those travelling with dogs. Please ensure you come into

HEALTH CERTIFICATION FOR OVERSEAS EXHIBITORS:TH CERTIFICATION FOR OVERSEAS EXHIBITORS: Please note if you require certification for your
HEAL
dog to travel home (i.e. EU Pet Passport holders that require tapeworm treatment) this can be arranged for you and the service will be
available between 3.00 pm and 5.00 pm each day in the Veterinary Centre at the show. Depending on the service, there will be a fee
which will need to be paid in cash. Appointments for a timed slot can be made at the Veterinary Centre throughout the day.
It is the exhibitors responsibility to ensure that any dog entered into Crufts has got the necessary travel documentation and health
preparations. The Royal Kennel Club has provided information on guidance to assist exhibitors attending Crufts from overseas, ensuring
a smooth return home after the event. Please take a moment to read via crufts.org.uk/dog-exhibitors/dog-showing/international-
exhibitors-guidance. Please note this is not a definitive list of what must be done. This is to be used as a guide only, exhibitors should
still contact their own authority for exact details on what they need to do to ensure a smooth journey for their dog and themselves.
For any paperwork (AHC/EHC) please email the Crufts Veterinary team [email protected] at least 30 days
before the show so that support documents/paperwork can be checked in advance (all support documents will have to be presented in
English). THIS PAPERWORK CANNOT BE GENERATED AT THE SHOW.
SHOWING AND HANDLING DOGS IN THE UK
Those taking part in dog shows in the UK are expected to maintain and abide by the highest standards in accordance with Royal Kennel
Club Rules and Regulations (RKC Show Regulation F2 refers). It is the exhibitors responsibility to make themselves aware of the Rule
and Regulations that appear in the Show Schedule. In particular they should be aware that:
No substance which alters the natural colour, texture or body of the coat may be present in the dog’s coat for any purpose at
any time during the Show. No substance which alters the natural colour of any external part of the dog may be present on the dog
for any purpose at any time during the Show.
Any other substance (other than water) which may be used in the preparation of a dog for exhibition must not be allowed to remain in
the coat or on any other part of the dog at the time of exhibition (Royal Kennel Club Show Regulation F(B) refers).
No act or operation which alters the natural conformation of a dog or any part thereof may be performed except: a) Operations
certified to the satisfaction of the Royal Kennel Club Board; b) The removal of dew claws of any breed; c) Operations to prevent
breeding provided that such operations are notified to the Royal Kennel Club before neutered dogs are shown; Nor must anything
be done calculated to in the opinion of the Royal Kennel Club Board to deceive. The Royal Kennel Club Board without previous
notice, may order an examination of any dog or dogs at any show. Any examination thus ordered will be made by a person having,
executive authority who shall have a written directive from the Royal Kennel Club in their possession. Samples may be taken for further
examination and analysis.
An individual has the right to lodge an objection to a dog only if he/she is the owner or handler of a dog competing in the same breed
or class. An objection may, however, be lodged by an official of the Show or by anyone so deputed by the Royal Kennel Club. It will be
the responsibility of the individual who lodges the objection or the official (as appropriate) to substantiate the grounds of the objection.
The Royal Kennel Club will substantiate the grounds for an objection made on its behalf.
RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE EXHIBITION OF DOGS IN THE UK
A. (1) Dogs should be present on their benches at all times except:
(a) When being judged
(b) When being prepared for exhibition and/or being exercised
(2) In certain circumstances dogs must be present on their benches at all times if requested by the Show Management.
(3) Dogs may be removed from their benches by order of the Veterinary Surgeon, Veterinary Practitioner or Show Management.
Daily Dental Treats B. Preparation of exhibits should generally take place on benches or in the area provided by the Show Society.
C. Except when securely benched or caged, all dogs must be on a lead for the duration of the show (including in the exercise area),
except when competing in the ring.
D. Cages, pens, grooming tables and trolleys are not allowed at the ringside.
