Show if a permit has been issued by the Organisers. There are also certain restrictions on the use of cameras for still photography
and private video films. Full details of these and filming permits may be obtained from [email protected].
37. Please note that Crufts is being filmed and your image may appear on television and in other media. By attending Crufts you
acknowledge that you may be filmed/recorded by the Organisers, including for the purposes of security, ensuring the welfare of
other people and of dogs, and for broadcast in all media (now known or hereinafter invented) as part of the Show. By attending
Crufts, you also acknowledge that you may be filmed/recorded by others who are filming the event for private purposes. No such
recording or reproduction of your image and likeness shall entitle you to payment.
38. Royal Kennel Club Regulation F(B): All exhibitors must be familiar with Royal Kennel Club Regulation F Annex B - Regulations
for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition.
39. Ring Numbers: Every exhibitor shall ensure that whilst the dog is being exhibited, its handler shall display the correct ring number.
40. The use of show stackers are prohibited at Crufts.
41. Handling of dogs at Crufts: Exhibitors are reminded that it is not acceptable to handle a dog in a manner which causes its feet
not to touch the ground when on the move. Exhibitors should note that such practices could constitute harsh handling and reports
will be referred to the Committee under Royal Kennel Club Show Regulation F2 and F11. The same applies to the practice of
picking up dogs, often terriers, by their necks, leads or tails when lifting them to and from the table during judging. Such practice
is both undesirable and unnecessary. If a dog winning Best of Breed has been handled as per the foregoing, the handler will not
be permitted to handle the dog in the Group and a replacement handler will be required for the dog to compete further. Similarly,
if a dog is handled in this manner in the Group an alternative handler will need to be appointed for Best in Show. All judges will be
made aware of the Regulation and Ring Stewards will be briefed to monitor this and refer any concerns to the Group Stewards.
No person shall carry out punitive correction or harsh handling of a dog at any time at the licensed venue, including its environs,
car and caravan parks and approaches.
42. All Best of Breed Pre-Group Check: A basic final check of each best of breed will be undertaken in the collecting ring by an
official from the show management and vet teams. The Crufts Committee is mindful that it has a duty of care to all dogs entered
at the show and particularly those competing in the Arena at Crufts which is a very different experience to competing in the Group
at other General Championship Shows and can be overwhelming for both dog and handler. Therefore to protect the welfare of
the dog, all best of breeds will be requested to undergo a basic low key observation to ensure each dog is ready to compete in
the Group. The observation will focus on obvious visible conditions which could compromise the dog’s performance in the Group
Competition. (RKC Regulation F(1).14 refers).
43. The owner, exhibitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog at Royal Kennel Club licensed event must at all times ensure
that the dog is kept under proper control whilst at the licensed venue, including its environs, car parks and approaches. This
regulation applies before (at any time during the set up period at the venue), during the event and afterwards (at any time during
the breakdown of the event).
44. All children must be kept under control and parents will be held responsible for any damage caused and charges incurred.
45. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Royal Kennel Club event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dogs are
met and should not put their dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action default, omission of otherwise. Exhibitors should not
bring their dogs to the show and/or exhibit if there are any concerns about their health or fitness, for instance, dogs going lame,
gastric upset and any other signs of discomfort or illness. Breach of the Royal Kennel Club regulations in this respect may be
referred to the Board for disciplinary action under Royal Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. The use of pinch collars, electronic
shock collars, or prong collars, is not permitted at Crufts. This shall apply at the venue or within the precincts of the show.
46. Children under the age of 11 are the responsibility of and must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian.
47. A dog may be disqualified by the Board from any award, whether an objection has been lodged or not, if proved amongst other
things to have been a) registered or recorded as having been bred by the scheduled judge, this shall not apply to a judge appointed
in an emergency; b) exhibited without payment of the appropriate entry fees.
48. Dyed dogs are prohibited from competing at Crufts.
49. Dogs entered in breach of Royal Kennel Club Show Regulations are liable to disqualification whether or not the owner was aware
of the breach.
50. If you win Best of Breed, you hereby give permission for official Crufts photographers to take two different photos of your dog
(one dog show pose and one casual pose). These photos are for the official results page, press as well as a record of Best of
Breed for Crufts history. The owner/s hereby gives the Royal Kennel Club and any duly appointed photographer, their licensees
and representatives their permission to use the picture, portrait, photograph or image (including graphical digital and computer
generated images) of the handler and the named dog in all forms and in all media and in all manners for the Royal Kennel Club
and Crufts results, press (including social media), advertising, promotion, marketing or any other lawful purposes without the
owner/s approval of the used imagery including third party usage. The owner/s agree that the photographer and/or the Royal
Kennel Club own the copyright in such photographs and hereby waive any claims they may have based on any usage of such
photographs or images or works derived from them. If the handler/owner is under 18, the parent or legal guardian completing
this entry hereby gives permission for the usage outlined above.
